Why Chris Craig
The Canadian Wildlife Alliance was created by Chris Craig, a Canadian photographer, videographer, author, and lifelong observer of the natural world. Chris’s connection to wildlife didn’t come from a single moment or career decision — it grew slowly through years spent outdoors, behind a camera, and listening more than speaking.
Through wildlife photography and documentary-style video work, Chris has spent countless hours in forests, wetlands, coastal areas, and rural landscapes across Canada. These experiences shaped a deep respect for wildlife not as scenery, but as living systems that require patience, understanding, and protection. The camera was never just about the image — it was about learning behavior, earning trust, and telling stories that mattered.
Over time, that work expanded into writing and creating nature-based books for young readers and families, using storytelling as a bridge between curiosity and responsibility. Chris’s books are grounded in real places, real animals, and real conservation challenges, written to help readers — especially children — see wildlife not as something distant, but as something worth knowing and protecting.
The Canadian Wildlife Alliance grew out of that same belief: that education is the strongest form of conservation. This platform is being developed as a conduit between schools, wildlife sanctuaries, refuges, sponsors, and institutions — helping turn awareness into meaningful support. By combining visual storytelling, educational content, and collaborative outreach, the goal is to give wildlife organizations a stronger voice and give students a real-world connection to the ecosystems they’re learning about.
This site is a work in progress, built with care and intention. It reflects a long-term commitment to Canada’s wildlife, the people who protect it, and the next generation who will inherit the responsibility.
